To edit a DTS package saved to SQL Server or RepositoryDTS packages saved previously to Microsoft® SQL Server™ or Microsoft Repository can be opened from the SQL Server Enterprise Manager console tree.
A package is available for editing unless it was saved with owner password protection turned on and the current user does not have access to the owner password. If a user password is also set, and the current user has access to that password, the package is available for execution but not editing.
DTS password options cannot be set for packages saved to Microsoft Repository; in that case, security is handled through either Windows NT Authentication or SQL Server Authentication.
