Executing a DTS Package

A DTS package can be run from the SQL Server Enterprise Manager console tree or from DTS Designer. You can also execute a package from the command prompt by using dtsrun.

When you run a package in DTS Designer, a summary of the execution progress and execution status of all the steps in the package is displayed. This allows you to check the status of each step, and gather information on steps that failed.
