When creating a DTS package using the DTS Import or DTS Export wizards, you can specify that the destination will be a replication publication. This provides a simple mechanism for creating a publication from heterogeneous data sources such as Microsoft® Access, DB2, or Oracle.
If you intend to continue maintaining the source data at its heterogeneous data site, consider saving the DTS procedure as a package, and executing it on a scheduled basis to replicate the data. When you save the DTS package, you can then schedule it to refresh the publication periodically. If you intend to migrate data from its heterogeneous data site, and will perform future modifications to the data using SQL Server, do not choose the option to save the package.
