Importing Data from an Access Database Example
As an example, the general steps required to import data from a Microsoft® Access database to Microsoft SQL Server™ using the DTS Import Wizard are:
- Choose Microsoft Access as the data source, and specify the file containing the Access database.
- Enter a User Name and Password to access the database, if necessary. You must also specify the name and location of the Access workgroup .mdw file in the Advanced Properties dialog box.
- Enter the table, or the results of an SQL query, to copy.
- Enter the destination table for the imported data.
- Specify any transformation requirements.
- Perform the import.
