Below is a flowchart of the main tasks of creating domain knowledge (in other words, in building a Microsoft English Query application). You can use a SQL database and the English Query domain editor (or Guided Application wizard) to complete these tasks on your own; however, it’s highly recommended that you complete the tutorial that follows the flowchart.
The tutorial guides you through the steps of the building an English Query application, using the sample Pubs database (available with Microsoft® SQL Server™), and gives you a good grounding in the process you will follow in building your own English Query applications.
Main Tasks of Building an English Query Application
Note For a number of reasons, including a limited “knowledge” of the English language in English Query, incomplete authoring of an application, and the design of a database, not all questions posed by users will be understood by an English Query application. However, a well-authored application will provide end users with a powerful new way to get information.
