How to connect to SQL Server through Microsoft Proxy Server (Setup)


Note To listen remotely by way of Remote WinSock (RWS), define the local address table (LAT) for the proxy server so that the listening node address is outside the range of LAT entries.


To connect to SQL Server through Microsoft Proxy Server

  1. On the Start menu, point to Programs/Microsoft SQL Server 7.0, and then click Server Network Utility.
  2. On the General tab in the Server network library list, select TCP/IP Sockets, and then click Edit.
  3. In the Edit Network Library Configuration dialog box in Port Number, enter the port number and the proxy server address (node name or IP address).
  4. In the Proxy address box, enter the node name or the IP address of the proxy server.
