How to copy the MSSQLServer Registry server key to a new key (Windows NT)
To copy the MSSQLServer Registry server key to a new key
- Start the Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe is usually found in the SYSTEM32 directory under the Microsoft® Windows NT® root directory).
- Switch to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE window; then double-click SOFTWARE.
- Double-click Microsoft.
- Select MSSQLServer.
- On the Edit menu, click Add Key.
- In the Key name box, enter a name for the new key, and then click OK.
- Select MSSQLServer, (under MSSQLServer) and on the Registry menu, click Save Key.
- In the File Name dialog box, enter a file name for the saved key and click Save.
- Click the new key, and on the Registry menu, click Restore.
- In the File Name dialog box, enter the file name for the saved key and click Open.
