The repository is the storage container for the metadata managed by Decision Support Objects (DSO). Metadata is stored in tables in a relational database. Metadata in the repository is automatically updated by DSO as you manipulate objects and their properties.
The design of the repository’s data storage tables is for internal use only and subject to change in future releases. We strongly recommend you use only the OLAP Manager user interface or DSO to manage metadata and not attempt to manipulate data in the repository directly. A repository with inconsistent or missing data may become unusable and difficult or impossible to repair.
You can migrate the repository from its default installation location to a Microsoft® SQL Server™ version 7.0 database. For more information, see Migrating OLAP Services Repositories.
