How to configure server tasking (Windows NT)

To configure server tasking

  1. In Control Panel, double-click System.
  2. Click the Performance tab.
  3. Move Application Performance to the appropriate setting:

Gives foreground and background programs equal processor time (Microsoft® SQL Server™ default).

Gives foreground programs the most processor time and the best response time (Microsoft Windows NT® default).

Note Moving Application Performance to the middle gives background programs better response time, but gives more processor time to foreground programs.
