Usage-Based Optimization Wizard - Select Queries
In this step of the wizard you select the queries you want to base your optimization on. You can specify:
- Queries between two dates
- Queries by specific users
- Length of time that a query takes to return a result set
- Numbers of times a query has been run
- Queries sent to one of the specific data storage types used in your cube
- A combination of any number of the above
To base your optimization on all the queries that ran during a specific time period
- Select the Queries for the dates check box.
- Select Between, Before, or After.
- Click the “…” button to select dates for one or both date boxes.
- Click Next.
To base your optimization on queries by one or more specific users
- Select the Queries by these users check box.
- Use the Add and Remove buttons to build your list of users.
- Click Next.
To base your optimization on all the queries of a certain duration
- Select the Queries that took longer than check box.
- In the second box, select Seconds or Minutes.
- In the first box, type or select a number.
- Click Next.
To base your optimization on queries that ran a certain number of times
- Select the Queries that ran more than check box.
- Type or select a number in the times box.
- Click Next.
To base your optimization on queries to data stored in a specific mode
- Select the Queries to check box.
- Click MOLAP cubes, ROLAP tables, or The server cache. The server cache option bases optimization on queries that were resolved solely by accessing the memory of the server computer without accessing a storage device.
- Click Next.
To base your optimization on more than one query criterion
- Select all the options you want to include.
- Fill in the details for each option.
- Click Next.
