Usage Analysis Wizard - Select Filter Criteria

In this step of the wizard, you set criteria to analyze query usage. A query log contains information about the queries that have been sent to your cube. You apply filters to this log to determine the specifics of your report. Available filter criteria include time period, users, query duration, and query frequency.

This step is optional. If you select no filter criteria in this step, the wizard will return a report on all queries. If you want to skip this step, click Next.

To filter your report by a specific time period

  1. Select the Queries for the dates check box.
  2. Select Between, Before, or After.
  3. Click the “” button to select dates for one or both date boxes.
  4. Click Next.

To filter your report by one or more specific users

  1. Select the Queries by these users check box.
  2. Use the Add and Remove buttons to build your list of users.
  3. Click Next.

Note You cannot filter by users unless you have defined user roles. For more information about roles, see Roles.


To filter your report by length of query

  1. Select the Queries that took longer than check box.
  2. In the second box, select Seconds or Minutes.
  3. In the first box, type or select a number.
  4. Click Next.

To filter your report by frequency of query

  1. Select the Queries that ran more than check box.
  2. Type or select a number in the times box.
  3. Click Next.

To base your report on more than one filter criterion

  1. Select all the options you want to include.
  2. Fill in the details for each option.
  3. Click Next.
