The Authentication API feature of Microsoft® NetShow™ Theater Server is designed to provide the foundation for creating custom authentication plug-in components, known as authenticators. This overview is organized in two parts. The first part is a programming guide to using the authentication API. It includes a brief introduction to the concept of authentication, and an explanation of how a server running NetShow Theater Server collaborates with the authenticators. It provides tips and samples that help you to learn how to write a custom authenticator. The second part covers the reference materials of the API.
