Platform SDK: Team Productivity Update

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the Team Productivity Update (TPU) are the same as for Microsoft® BackOffice® Server 4.5. BackOffice Server runs on a variety of computers, ranging from Pentium-based systems to multiprocessor systems.

The Team Productivity Update requires that you run the setup for BackOffice Server. This will be verified when you install the Team Productivity Update. You will not be able to install the components needed by the TPU individually.

BackOffice Server requires that your computer is running Windows NT® Server 4.0. If your computer is not running Windows NT Server, then you should determine whether your computer hardware is compatible with Windows NT by consulting the Windows NT Hardware Compatibility List, located in the \Support\Hcl.hlp file on BackOffice Server Disc 3. The most recent version of the Hardware Compatibility List can also be found on the Internet at:
http://www.microsoft.com/hwtest/hcl

Important Before you install BackOffice Server, you should ensure that the server has the required processor, memory, disk space, and page file. To run all BackOffice Server components, your server should have at least a 256-MB page file. For information about increasing the page file, see Chapter 9, "Troubleshooting BackOffice Server Installation" in Microsoft BackOffice Server Getting Started.

The following tables display the minimum and recommended hardware requirements for BackOffice Server.
