Use this dialog box to control access to your Web application by specific groups.
This dialog box is available from the Groups tab of the Permissions dialog box if Use unique permissions for this Web is selected on the Settings tab of the Permissions dialog box.
Note This dialog box is not available if your master Web server is on an operating system using the File Allocation Table file system (FAT), such as Microsoft® Windows® 95, instead of Windows NT® File System (NTFS).
Select to specify the network name for the domain of names to select group names from.
Displays the list of groups belonging to the domain and allows names to be selected and added to the Add names box. You can highlight a single group or several groups in this box.
Note If either the user or computer has more restrictive permissions than the group, the more restrictive permissions are used instead of the group’s permissions.
Moves the names selected in the Names box into the list of groups displayed in the Add names box.
Displays the list of groups that the permissions are applied to. If you do not want to choose from the Names list, you can type the domain and group name directly into the Add names box.
To remove a group from this list, select the name for the group you want to remove, and then press the Delete key.
Browse this Web application
Select to specify that the group is allowed to view the content of the Web application through a browser. By default, all groups have browse access to Web applications when they are created. The group is not allowed to create a new project that points to this application.
Author this Web application
Select to specify that the group is allowed to browse, open, and modify the Web application files, including adding or deleting content.
Administer this Web application
Select to specify that the group is allowed to change permissions on the Web application and create new Web projects as well as browse, open, and modify the Web application files.
