Use this tab to set a background color or a background image for an element. You can also specify the position and display of background images. For more information, see CSS Attributes Reference.
Note The CSS Editor allows you to modify HTML tags supported by Microsoft® Internet Explorer version 4.0 or later. HTML tags not supported by Internet Explorer will be converted to UNKNOWN when you save the .css file. For more information, see HTML References.
Select to set the color used for the background of the element. Select a pre-defined color from the drop-down list or choose Browse to select a custom color.
Select to specify that the background of the element is transparent.
Enter the path to a graphic file to be used to overlay the element. Choose Browse to find a graphic.
Select to specify whether the background image is static on the page or if the image scrolls with the page content. Choose Fixed to specify that the image does not scroll with the page content. By default, Scroll is selected.
Select to set the initial top to bottom position of the background image.
Top
Select to position the background image in the top section of the element.
Middle
Select to position the background image in the middle or center section of the element.
Bottom
Select to position the background image in the bottom section of the element.
Other
Select to set a percentage value or other unit value for the vertical position of the background image. Negative values are allowed. Use this option with the Other option for Horizontal position to set the position of an image.
For example, setting Other to 0% places the image in the upper section of the element. Setting Other to 100% places the image in the lower section of the element.
For example, you could also set Other to 2 centimeters to place the image 2 centimeters in from the edge of the element.
Select to set the initial left to right position of the background image.
Left
Select to position the background image in the left section of the element.
Center
Select to position the background image in the center of the element.
Right
Select to position the background image in the right section of the element.
Other
Select to set a percentage value or other unit value for the horizontal position of the background image. Negative values are allowed.
For example, setting Other to 0% places the image in the left section of the element. Setting Other to 100% places the image in the right section of the element.
If neither Vertically nor Horizontally is selected, the background image will not repeat on the page. If both Vertically and Horizontally are selected, the background image will tile across the entire page.
Vertically
Select to specify that the background image repeats from top to bottom on the page.
Horizontally
Select to specify that the background image repeats from left to right on the page.
