Specifies the file name, registry key, or registry value that is the key of the component that contains the selected file. You can change the value displayed to assign the file to a new component.
Settings
The settings for the Component property are:
| Setting | Description |
| Self | The selected file is the key of the component to which it belongs. This is the default setting for any new file added to the installer project. |
| File Name | The file that is the key of the component containing the selected file. |
Dialog button [...]
Select the Dialog button […] to display the Component Dialog Box. In this dialog box, you can select a different component key to assign the file to a different component.
