Specifies the file, registry key, or registry value that is the key of the component containing the selected registry entry. You can change the value displayed to assign the registry entry to a new component.
Settings
The settings for the Component property are:
| Setting | Description |
| (Self) | The selected registry key or value is the key of the component to which it belongs. This is the default setting for any new registry key or value added to the installer project. |
| File Name, Registry Key, or Registry Value | The file, registry key, or registry value that is the key of the component that contains the selected registry entry. |
Dialog button [...]
Select the Dialog button […] to display the Component Dialog Box. In this dialog box, you can select a different component key to assign the registry entry to a different component.
