Error encountered in the format of the persisted packaging project file

The Microsoft development environment cannot load the packaging project file (.pkp) due to corruption in the file format.

Try the following:

• Remove custom edits to the .pkp file, or revert to an earlier version of the .pkp file.
  
  
• Create a new packaging project and add your files.
