TCP/IP Troubleshooting |
This problem occurs if you have selected Use default gateway on remote network under the General tab of the Advanced Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties in the Dial-Up Connections page. This feature adds a default route to the routing table with a metric of 1 and changes the existing default route to a metric of 2. All non-local traffic is now forwarded to the gateway on the remote access link. However, to access the Internet, this feature must be enabled.
To ping or otherwise connect to computers in a remote subnet across a router while you are connected as a remote access client to a remote Windows remote access server, use the route add command to add the route of the subnet you want to use.
