Of the 24 files on the FTP site at the release date of this update to the Windows 95 DDK, 13 are on this update release of the DDK. Note that these 13 files on the DDK are snapshots of the files on the FTP site. To be sure you have the most recent version of these files, download them from the FTP site.
The primary information for creating modem INF files can be found in Using the Windows 95 Modem Development Kit (Mdk.doc) and Microsoft Windows 95 Modem Registry Reference (Reg.doc).
The documentation on the MDK FTP site is always the most current documentation available. If the information in Mdk.doc and Reg.doc on the FTP site is different than the information in the Windows 95 DDK, always use the information from the FTP site.
Two files on the FTP site, Mctkit.doc and Modemhct.exe, relate to the Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) modem certification. Versions of these two files are also distributed on the WHQL FTP site, which has the URL ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/services/whql. It is possible that the version of these files on the WHQL FTP site may be more current than the files with the same name on the FTP site with the URL ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/developr/drg/modem.
