Adding a Fax Entry to a Unimodem INF File

Most of the registry entries used by the Microsoft Fax drivers and the T.30 engine may be specified in the modem's INF file. These entries are documented in REG.DOC, under the FAX Section. It is important to note that over 95% of the modems tested by the Microsoft Fax group do not need any fax unimodem entries in the INF file. In other words, the fax entries should only be specified to fix known incompatibilites with Windows 95 or NT-SUR fax. This especially important to keep in mind because the Microsoft fax drivers in future versions of Windows will be better integrated into the unimodem architecture, and will make use of more of the data modem INF information.

All fax INF entries should have the following form:

 HKR, Fax, <entry-name>, <string>

For example,

        HKR, Fax, SetupCommand,, "ATS7=255&D3S34=1"
