Target Audience

Windows Media Device Manager is for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) that produce portable devices and independent software vendors (ISVs) that develop software to download content to portable devices.

To a lesser extent, this system will be beneficial to the manufacturers of portable media. It will also benefit chip manufacturers that supply the OEMs with processors for portable devices, by providing code samples that can be included with chip SDKs.
