Windows Media Device Manager Interfaces
The collection of interfaces that the application acquires to access and control a media device is organized in a hierarchical manner; each interface is typically acquired from another interface. The Windows Media Device Manager application programming interfaces provide methods for handling the following tasks:
- Certifying applications.
- Enumerating media devices.
- Accessing media device interfaces.
- Obtaining device-specific information and status.
- Accessing storage media on media devices.
- Formatting a storage medium.
- Getting play lengths, track numbers, and so on.
