WMI ADSI Extension

The Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) Active Directory™ Service Interface extension extends computer objects to allow the management of directory service objects through WMI. The WMI extension only extends computer objects found in the LDAP namespace on Microsoft® Windows® 2000 computers.

The extension adds properties and methods to ADSI computer objects. You can use these properties and methods to identify these computer objects in WMI. You can then use WMI to manage the computer objects.

Note that as an alternative to using ADSI and this extension, you can use the WMI Directory Services Provider to manage the Active Directory.
