Using the Windows Media Player Plug-in for Netscape Navigator

To use the Microsoft® Windows Media™ Player plug-in, you must make sure that the Npdsplay.dll and Npds.zip files are installed in the Communicator\Program\Plugins directory within the installation directory of Netscape Navigator. Usually, these files are automatically installed when you run the Windows Media Player setup program. However, if Windows Media Player is installed before Netscape Navigator, these two files can sometimes be improperly installed in the Netscape Navigator Plugins directory. In this case, you must either reinstall Windows Media Player, or copy the two files into the Communicator\Program\Plugins directory. You can check if the plug-in is properly installed by clicking About Plug-ins on the Help menu in Netscape Navigator, and looking for "Windows Media Player Plug-in Dynamic Link Library."

Using the Windows Media Player with Netscape Navigator requires different scripting than that used with Microsoft® Internet Explorer. The following articles explain how to use the plug-in.
