The Log Analysis Script Sample demonstrates one method of extracting information from Windows Media Services version 4.0 log files to build clear, useful reports. If created weekly, a Windows Media Services log can contain thousands of client events, each with more than 40 fields of data. By running a log file through the Log Analysis Script or a similar script, data is analyzed and combined to create summaries. The summaries can be very useful in assessing server load or managing aspects of your streaming media business. The PERL ParseLog Script Sample, also included in this SDK, is another example of a script that is used for log analysis.
