IIS Brings the CML to the Web
Microsoft® Internet Information Server (IIS) 4.0 is the server for the Corporate Media Library (CML) application. IIS offers technologies that enable creation of a robust and scalable Web application. IIS 4.0 is tightly integrated with Microsoft Transaction Server 2.0.
The following IIS features support CML requirements:
- Process isolation guarantees performance and availability of the CML application.
- Low cost of management. Tight integration with Microsoft Windows NT® Server enables administrators of Web applications to use existing Windows NT administration tools and the Windows NT Server 4.0 directory and security services.
- Support for n-tier architecture. IIS ASP pages, residing in the business-services tier, make calls to CML application components that contain application business logic. The components in turn execute stored procedures in the CML database. Data access components are also supported.
