The search queries executed by the CML application search its Microsoft SQL Server database, FmLib. But in specific cases, SQL Server passes the query on to search a catalog generated by Index Server. These catalog searches occur only when the following circumstances coincide:
Optionally, the database table could include timestamps that help the catalog generation create incremental catalogs. That is, instead of regenerating an entire catalog from the database each time, only those items changed since the last generation would be added to the new catalog listings.
For more information, see About Full-Text Search and CML and Full-Text Search.
Searches of this kind are possible from both the Library Search page and the Library Catalog page of the CML application.
