Paul A. O'Rear is a co-owner of Sageline Software, specializing in software for help authors and technical writers, and owner of Helpful Solutions, a consulting service specializing in custom Windows help development. He first got interested in Windows help systems in the late 1980's. While messing around in Windows/286 and Windows 3.0 he discovered the Joy of Hypertext. Since that time Paul has learned several programming languages and much about Windows programming in general, but his core interest has continued to be in working with WinHelp, HTML Help and related technologies. Perhaps best known for his knowledge of WinHelp/HTML Help internals and contributions to CompuServe's Help Authoring Forum and the WINHLP-L list, Paul enjoys life outside of hyperspace as well - particularly while playing his Rickenbacker bass guitar or watching good sci-fi.
