Retrieves the maximum number of characters that can be entered into the control.

Syntax

HRESULT get_maxLength(

Parameters

p

Address of a long variable that receives the maximum number of characters.

Return Value

Returns S_OK if successful, or an error code otherwise.

IHTMLInputElement::put_maxLength Method

Sets the maximum number of characters that can be entered into the control.

Syntax

HRESULT put_maxLength(
    long v
);

Parameters

v

Long value that specifies the length to set.

Return Value

Returns S_OK if successful, or an error code otherwise.

Remarks

The v parameter can be larger than the size property of the textbox. When this occurs, the textbox should scroll accordingly as the user types.
