IHTMLInputFileElement::get_maxLength Method


Retrieves the maximum number of characters that can be entered into the control.

Syntax

HRESULT get_maxLength(
    long *p
);

Parameters

p
Address of a long variable that receives the maximum number of characters.

Return Value

Returns S_OK if successful, or an error code otherwise.

Windows CE

Windows CE Use version 2.12 and later
Minimum availability Internet Explorer 4.0

IHTMLInputFileElement::put_maxLength Method


Sets the maximum number of characters that can be entered into the control.

Syntax

HRESULT put_maxLength(
    long v
);

Parameters

v
A long value that specifies the length.

Return Value

Returns S_OK if successful, or an error code otherwise.

Remarks

Parameter v can be larger than the size property of the textbox. When this occurs, the textbox should scroll accordingly as the user types. There is no limit to the maximum length of the control.
