IHTMLInputTextElement::get_maxLength Method


Retrieves the maximum number of characters that can be entered into a text control.

Syntax

HRESULT get_maxLength( 
    long *p 
);

Parameters

p
Address of a variable that receives the maximum number of characters.

Return Value

Returns S_OK if successful, or an error code otherwise.

Remarks

This value can be larger than the size property of the text box. In this case, the text box scrolls as the user types. There is no default limit.
