Specify the view for a subform
If you use the Form Wizard or the Subform Wizard to create a subform, Microsoft Access sets the DefaultView property of the subform according to the choices you make in the wizard dialog boxes. Use this procedure if you're creating a subform on your own or if you want to change the view you specified in the wizard.
- Open the main form in Design view. The subform is displayed in Design view in the subform control.
- Make sure the subform control is selected. After it’s selected, you can click again inside the control to set the properties of the form, just as you would if you opened the subform in Design view from the Database window.
- Double-click the form selector to open the subform's property sheet.
- In the DefaultView property box, click Single Form, Continuous Forms, or Datasheet.
- In the ViewsAllowed property box, click the Form setting if you don't want to be able to switch to Datasheet view. Click the Datasheet setting if you don't want to be able to switch to Form view. If you want to be able to switch back and forth between Datasheet and Form views, click the Both setting.
