Display text, an icon, or both on a toolbar button

1. On the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Customize.
   
   
2. Show the toolbar with the button you want to change.
   
   
3. Leave the Customize dialog box open. On the toolbar, right-click the button you want to change, and then click the option you want on the shortcut menu.

Notes  

• You can't change the text and icon format for a button that displays a list or a menu when you click it.
  
  
• If the button has the Default Style format, when you copy or move the button to a menu, the menu automatically displays the command name and icon (which is the default for menus).
