This reference describes the functions, function prototypes, structures, flags, and error codes associated with the Microsoft® Win32® Internet (WinInet) functions.

Unicode support for many of the functions and structures has been added in Microsoft Internet Explorer 5. The syntax used in the reference for these functions and structures has been modified to accommodate the differences between the ANSI and Unicode implementations.
