Export a table or query to a Paradox or dBASE file
- In the Database window, click the name of the table or query (Microsoft Access database only) you want to export, and then on the File menu, click Export.
- In the Save As Type box, click the Paradox or DBASE database format you want.
- Click the arrow to the right of the Save In box, and select the drive or folder to export to.
- In the File Name box, enter the file name, and then click Save All.
Notes
- To export to Paradox 8.0 or dBASE 7 file format, you must have the Borland Database Engine (BDE) version 4.x or later installed on your computer. If you do not have BDE 4.x or later installed, you can obtain it by installing Paradox 8.0 or Delphi. If you have an older version of the BDE that does not support Paradox 8.0 file format, you can upgrade your engine from the Borland World Wide Web site. Alternatively, if you do not have the BDE installed on your computer, you can still export to Paradox 3.x, 4.x, and 5.0 file formats and to dBASE III, IV and 5 file formats.
- If you export a table with table or field names that aren't allowed in the destination database, Microsoft Access adjusts the names. For example, if you export data to a dBASE table, any field names longer than 10 characters will be truncated.
