Rename a menu command or toolbar button
- On the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Customize.
- Show the toolbar, menu bar, or shortcut menu with the menu command or toolbar button you want to change.
- With the Customize dialog box open, do one of the following:
- To rename a menu command, click the menu on the menu bar or toolbar, or click the shortcut menu that contains the command you want to rename. Right-click the menu command you want to rename, type a new name in the Name box on the shortcut menu, and then press ENTER.
- To rename a toolbar button, right-click the button on the toolbar, type a new name in the Name box on the shortcut menu, and then press ENTER.
Notes
- If a toolbar button does not display text, you won't see the name change except when you view the ScreenTip. For information about displaying text, an icon, or both on a toolbar button, click .
- When you specify a new name for a menu command or toolbar button, you can assign an access key. For more information, click .
