Remote Data Service (RDS)
RDS allows Web developers to move data from a server to a client application or Web page, manipulate the data on the client, and return updates to the server in a single round trip. Designed for building data-centric Web applications, RDS brings database connectivity and corporate data publishing capabilities to Internet and intranet applications, and offers enhanced data binding for Web pages, client-side caching, and the ability to invoke custom business objects. As part of the Microsoft Data Access Components, RDS is automatically installed and registered by a host product, such as Microsoft Internet Information Server.
