Export a datasheet to server-generated HTML format

  1. In the Database window, click the name of the table, query, or form, you want to export, and then on the File menu, click Export.

  2. In the Save As Type box, click Microsoft IIS 1-2 (*.htx;*.idc) or Microsoft Active Server Pages (*.asp) depending on which server-generated HTML output format you want. Learn about server-generated HTML.

  3. Click a shortcut on the Places Bar or click the arrow to the right of the Save In box and select the drive or folder to export to.

  4. In the File Name box, enter the file name.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Enter the appropriate information in the Microsoft Active Server Pages Output Options or HTX/IDC Output Options dialog boxes:

    In the HTML Template box, enter the location of an HTML template. Learn about an HTML Template file.

    In the Data Source Name box, enter the name of the ODBC data source that you will connect to when the server-generated HTML files are processed on the Web server. Learn about ODBC data sources.

    For a Microsoft Access database, in the User to Connect As and Password for User boxes, enter a user-level security username and password to allow users access to the Access database from the Web page. If you do not enter a username or password, the default username is Admin, and no password is used. Learn about user-level security.

    For a Microsoft Access project, in the Username and Password boxes, enter a database username and password to allow users to access the Microsoft SQL Server database from the Web page. Once you have output a datasheet to ASP or IDC/HTX output format, you need to publish the files to make them available on the World Wide Web. Learn about publishing server-generated HTML files to a Web server.
