Zero Administration Initiative for Windows (ZAW)
A long-term Microsoft strategy to reduce the management effort needed for and overall cost of operating personal computers and networks. When fully implemented, systems implemented according to the ZAW initiative will have centralized management of desktops, automatic updates of operating system and application software, and stateless desktop computing, with persistent central data storage. Much support for ZAW is currently implemented in the inventory, distribution, and remote diagnostics capabilities of Microsoft Systems Management Server. For more information, see the site http://www.microsoft.com/windows/zaw.
